Cyprus: Europe's last frozen border

Short film I shot in Cyprus's only mixed Greek-Turkish village, which sits inside the UN's demilitarised zone. I conceived the concept for this new strand of films, 'See Both Sides' for The Economist which looked at polarising issues.

Cyprus is an island divided between the south and a self-declared Turkish republic in the north. Simon Mytides, a mayor in the south, and Nejded Enver, a mayor on the Turkish side of the border, consider the odds for reunification.

Filmed, produced and directed by Liam Nolan for The Economist, 2016.
